Are you looking for some family-friendly activities to do in Oklahoma City this weekend? If so, you’re in luck as below you’ll find five events that are perfect for a family outing.

1. OKC Festival of the Arts

The Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts is a community festival of the visual and performing arts that brings together a diverse group of outstanding artists at Bicentennial Park (downtown).

The event has been an OKC tradition since 1967 and is considered a rite of spring and a hallmark event of the ACOKC. This year, however, ACOKC will be held in June instead of April, from June 22nd to 27th.

This year, the group has expanded the event grounds. To make more room, the event is expanding to the east lawn of city hall, where a line of food trucks will wrap around the perimeter.

2. Beats & Bites Festival

COOP Ale Works Beats & Bites Festival is returning for its fifth year at Riverwind Casino, offering you some of Oklahoma’s finest fun, cuisine, and festivities, including local food trucks and live music, on select Saturdays this summer.

Enjoy a wide range of local vendors providing craft beer and summer food ranging from barbecue to Greek to Mexican, as well as wine and sweets, for just $5.00. Face painters, apparel, and jewelry artisans, as well as the OG&E ThunderBolt and the Goldsby Fire Department, will be on hand.

3. Symphony Show House 2021

The Symphony Show House has been opening its doors to architectural treasures for 48 years and is generally regarded as Oklahoma’s finest yearly show house event. The region’s best designers turn houses into the unexpected, whether beginning with a blank canvas of a new home or the character of a historic manor.

Symphony Show House is more than simply a house tour; it is a crucial source of charity fundraising for the OKC Philharmonic. The OKCPHIL’s initiatives are used by over 144 schools to keep music alive in their classrooms, and 10,000 kids attend free concerts each year.

4. Stars & Stripes River Festival

The 2021 Stars & Stripes River Festival takes place at the Boathouse District on Saturday, June 26. RIVERSPORT Adventures, whitewater rafting, racing throughout the day, and live music mix on-the-water excitement with food trucks and live music at this Fourth of July themed event. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with live music from 4 to 8 p.m.

The Stars & Stripes Regatta will be held on the Oklahoma River on Saturday morning, and the RIVERSPORT Whitewater Rafting League Championship will be held on the rapids that morning. Throughout the day, there will be racing, adventures, excellent food, and family fun. In the evening, experience live music in the whitewater center from Hypnotik Duo, as well as night racing on the Oklahoma River with OGE NightSprints and the OKC RIVERSPORT Corporate Rowing & Dragon Boat League Championships.

5. Grease Oklahoma City

The school year at Rydell High is marred by a secret summer romance between the new girl in town and the school’s coolest cat. Hula-hoops, bouffants, and hot cars were all the rage during these “good days,” and rock ‘n’ roll reigned supreme.

“You’re the One That I Want,” “Grease is the Word,” “Summer Nights,” and “Hopelessly Devoted to You” are just a few of the memorable songs from both the stage play and the film.

When Lyric’s performance hits the audience in a stunning, new ’50s musical experience, you’ll be instant fans! Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey wrote the script, music, and lyrics for the show, which will be directed by Lyric’s Producing Artistic Director Michael Baron.
