Mask Mandate Reinstated for Oklahoma City Employees

Mask Mandate for OKC Employees

All city workers must wear a mask within government facilities, according to Oklahoma City’s City Manager.

According to a letter to department heads dated August 17, Craig Freeman, City Manager, stated, “As coronavirus cases continue rising in our workforce and in the community, we’re bringing back specific safety precautions that helped us control infections earlier in the pandemic.”

If you work for the city, whether vaccinated or not, all employees must wear a face covering when working or in a vehicle with others, working with citizens when adequate barriers are not in place, and when in common areas, such as a building’s hallways, bathrooms, common areas, bathrooms, and elevators.

Within the memo, Freeman also urged workers to get the COVID-19 vaccination at one of the city’s workplace clinics.

The modifications went into effect on August 18.
