Pack your bags and move to Tulsa if you are a true food lover! A Greek Festival is an all-day event in Oklahoma that illustrates the unique culture of the state every September. The coalescing of the authentic mouth-watering food with the aesthetic folk dance and instruments has always played a major role in the festival, making the Festival a center of attraction. Furthermore, the food festival also introduces football and other tents to tempt the non-foodies too, diversifying the customers. The Tulsa Greek Festival has just amped up its game, alluring gazillions of food lovers.
The all-day event had a significant setback two years ago, after the advent of the coronavirus. The world was isolated, and the countries imposed lockdown, banning all the street activities. Thus, after the outbreak, the Greek Festival lost its charm and enthusiasm in 2019. With the ban on outdoor activities, the biggest food festival could no longer showcase the amalgamation of food and culture. Nevertheless, the significant outbreak not just gave rise to the number of cases but also, the number of new creations that could distinctly crack the problem. The Greek Festival revolutionized during the pandemic and climbed to new heights of success.
Greek Festival Included Drive-Thru to Give a Dazzling Hybrid Experience
In 2021, Tulsa introduced a drive-thru service at the Festival to deal with the situation. The customers came in their cars and enjoyed the variety of food and the melodious music. It reminisced the memories of the citizens while maintaining the social distancing policies. Since the customers were adapted to the routine of walking down the food street, the Festival added a few new activities and varieties to sustain the enthusiasm. For example, they added Greek food items such as Spanikopita and Tiropita and some delicious food items Finikia and Loukoumades.
Moreover, the folk dances were transformed into custom dances, where the netizens could join the dance too. The citizens were delighted to see the new jewelry shops and cookbooks that amplified the interest. The Food Festival made the drive-thru experience a successful event, and it paved the way for later success.
Now that the coronavirus is in a declining stage, the world has returned to its normal routine. This year, the Greek Festival has combined both services. The food lovers will choose to enjoy a relaxing drive-thru experience or the vivid food street experience. This event will be a hybrid event that will be held twice for two consecutive days. It will be held on Greek Street, 1222 S. Guthrie, OK 74119. The dates provided by the executives are 17-18 September and 24-25 September.
The scrumptious food menu is on its way, with the new exotic recipes such as lamb dinner, ouzo, or spanakopita. The food festival has also announced a special gift for everyone to elevate their interest. Additionally, the live performances and the live cooking demonstrations will also be part of the food street, giving the citizens a hands-on experience on how to cook like a chef. The drive-thru enthusiasts can enjoy the same experience while remaining in their comfort.
