The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other US health officials recommend the administering of booster shots for Americans starting September 20. This proposed plan is brought about by recent findings that the effect of the vaccines diminishes over time. Individuals who have already received two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine may be qualified to get the booster shot. The proposal is still pending a Food and Drug Administration approval.
