Hospitals in Oklahoma are now at full capacity as COVID-19 cases surge. Officials attribute the surge to the more contagious Delta virus, the low vaccination rate in the state, and the growing laxness in implementing protocols such as mask-wearing. With the increase of COVID-19 cases, hospitals have to deal with nursing shortages, delays in treatment of non-COVID-19 patients and compromised health care quality for all patients. Doctors are urging the public to get vaccinated and practice stricter mask-wearing in public.
