According to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Oklahoma City’s unemployment rate is the lowest it’s been in since December 2019 with just 2.6%.
This is a dramatic difference when compared to the over 13% unemployment rate posted in April of 2020. Between March and April of 2020, the unemployment rate jumped by more than 10%. Since that time, it has steadily decreased and is now at it’s lowest rate in the last 19 months.
This rate is tied with Salt Lake City, UT as the lowest unemployment rate of all the metropolitan areas in the country with more than 1 million people. Something that Mayor David Holt has recently took to twitter to express his excitement.
