Thousands of people flocked to the Oklahoma State Fair on Friday night to enjoy the food, entertainment, and attractions. But if you’re planning on taking the family to state fair this weekend, police are warning fair goers to stay safe.
Due to there being so many people in such a small space, authorities advise visitors to keep track of their belongings and stay with a group. Take a photo of your children in case they are separated from you and you need to know what they are wearing.
“People are not in danger simply by coming to the state fair,” said Capt. Rod Strecker, with the Oklahoma City Police Department. “The fair is actually a pretty safe place in all reality, so it’s a great gathering for the city, and it draws people from all over the state.”
Rest assured knowing that police officers are patrolling the fair and are available to assist if you need them.
