On September 11th, 2001, nearly 3,000 people died in the 9/11 attacks. This event remains the most deadly terrorist attack in America’s history.
Four planes hijacked by members of Al-Qaeda crashed into iconic locations including the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and one was believed to be headed for the U.S. Capitol crashed in Shanksville after passengers tried to take back control from the hijackers.
To commemorate 9/11, every year Americans honor the survivors of that tragic event. The 20th anniversary of this date is nearing and there are ways that Oklahoman’s can take part.
