US health authorities have imposed a vaccine mandate on all nursing homes across the country with the ultimatum of losing Medicare and Medicaid funding if they refuse to impose the mandate. Over 81% of nursing home residents in Oklahoma are already fully vaccinated while less than 50% of the health care workers have received the shots. Oklahoma residents are split with regards to the mandate. Some are in favor while others fear the mandate will cause unvaccinated health care workers to quit their jobs, leading to an even greater shortage in health care.
